Újabb adalékok a hiányzó megafaunákhoz
Szakmai képzésem alatt úgy tanították, hogy a termőtalaj pusztulás folyamatos és természetes dolog. Finoman szólva is kimaradt, hogy pl. hazánk esetében is ennek oka a megafauna hiánya. Igen a kárpát-medencei élővilág még mindig nyögi a jégkor végén kihalt állatok hiányát. Indiában még úgy ahogy megvan a megafauna, ennek egy tonnás illetve a fölötti tagjait vizsgálták. Ott helyben ezek állatok képesek kordában tartani az ember általi tájidegen és invazív növényfajokat. Ezt végig gondolva hazánkban is másabb lenne a helyzet, ha még meglennének a nagy növényevők.
Egy másik publikáció ismét megerősíti, hogy az ember miatt haltak ki a megafaunák. Számomra nagyon unalmas és irtózatosan szánalmasnak találom, hogy vannak akik próbálnak minket embereket felmenteni ezalól. Hát igen, emberi egosovinizmus.
Titanoboa számszerüsítve
Több száz zöld anakonda vizsgálata révén elég pontosnak tűnő adatok születtek. Bár ezek korántsem biztosak. 12,82 méteresre becsült Titanoboa cerrejonensis nőstény 1232 kg lehetett, vemhesen 1 465 kg. Szaporodni 4,8 méteres korában kezdhetett 95 kilósan. 1,81-2,15 méteresek lehettek az újszülöttek. 0,505 tonna lehetett az átlagos bevitt élelem, a maximális 1,799 tonna. Átalag napi növekedés 0,046 mm/nap lehetett, vizsgált mai fajé 0,036 mm/nap. Ez nem támogatja, hogy azért nőtt a Titanoboa ekkorára, mert annak idején melegebb volt a klíma.
Még korábbi mélytengeri hal nyomok
Akár milyen meglepő, mélytengeri gerincesek, leginkább halak fosszíliái finoman szólva is ritkák. Ezért nagy szám hogy mélytengeri hal nyomokat találtak. Ilyen nyomokat mai fajok is hagynak az aljzatban mikor közvetlenül felette úsznak és érintik azt. Szóval ez a 130 millió éves nyomfosszília a legkorábbi biztos lelett mélytengeri gerincesekre.

Rendszertanból egyes, leülni
Elmondani is nehéz mennyire nehéz egyesekkel felfogatni, hogy a madarak azok dinoszauruszok. Vannak kikkel nem is lehet. Nem segít a helyzeten az auFNSL vagyis az Australian Fossil National Species List. Van róla publikáció, az alatt pedig az elérhető listák linkje a forrásnál. Teljesen oké, legyenek a kontinens fosszilisen ismert állatai összeírva.
Amikor megnéztem a honlapot, már rosszat sejtettem. Madarak külön listát kaptak. Akkor a nem madár dinoszauruszok hol lesznek? Előre is féltem. Természetesen a hüllők és kétéltűek listáján. Értem én, hogy bonyolult a hüllő rendszertan, mert nevük ellenére elég sok hüllő melegvérű volt például. De akkor is a Dinosauria íly módon való szétvágása paleontológusoktól baromi amatőr, Carl von Linné-től szagló magyar tananyagot idézi. Minimum egybe kellett volna minden Dinosauria-t listázni, de inkább úgy az Archosauria-kat. Esetleg az Archosauromorpha-t jobban kiterjesztve. Vagy minden Tetrapoda-t egy listára. Vagy földtörténeti korok alapján csoportosítani. Sajnos nem ismert olyan sok e kontinensről, mint máshonnan, nem lenne így sem olyan hosszú a lista.

Krokodilok hidegvérűségének eredetéről
Olybátűnik, hogy a triász végén váltak a Crocodylomorpha-k hidegvérűvé, ennek oka nem tisztázott. Ugyanekkor a többi és egyben melegvérű pseudosuchia ág kihalt. Ellenben ez logikátlannak tűnik, mert a szintén melegvérű dinoszauruszok fenmaradtak. Triász végi kihalásnál nem az volt a döntő, hogy meleg vagy hidegvérű volt-e az állat.

Diverzebb életközösség
A kora krétai, kolumbiai Paja formáció életközösségének rekonstruálására tettek kísérletet. Elméleti szinten mai tengeri életközösségek szerkezetének kialakulása triásztól datálható. Van egy kis gond viszont. Az amoniteszek vagy betöltöttek olyan ökológiai fülkéket, miket ma a halak, vagy ma nem létező ökológiai fülkékkel bírtak. Az akkori csúcsragadozó tengeri hüllők pedig a mai tengeri csúcsragadozókhoz képest még magasabb szinten voltak. Szóval a táplálékpiramis szerkezete másabb és magasabb is volt.

Temnodontosaurus trigonodon első példánya az Egyesült Királyságból, továbbá a példány a legnagyobb Ichthyosauria is az országból 10 méterével. Továbbá itt egy kép Dr. Dean Lomax Twitter oldaláról, mely valahol egy kedves kis történet, hogy a kiásott lelet helyén megáll a víz, oázist létrehozva. Trilobita béltartalomról
Ordovíciumi Trilobita, a Bohemolichas incola béltartalma került vizsgálatra. Bél szakaszban végig jelen vannak meszes héj töredékek, lényegében tömve van. Ez alapján lúgos vagy semleges PH-jú volt a bélrendszer, mint a mai rákok vagy csáprágósoknak. Továbbá úgy tűnik, hogy a dögevők e miatt a beleket elkerülték táplálkozás közben.

Újabb több millió éves DNS
Lepidochelys teknős genuszba tartozik az atlanti fattyúteknős. A panamai Chagres formációból előkerültek e ganuszba tartozó leletek. Miocén korú, tehát alsó hangon 5 millió évnél idősebb. Bizonyos részek nagyon jó állapotban maradtak meg és lehetségesen DNS-t is tartalmaznak mely nem szennyeződés. Ez az első alkalom, hogy nem dinoszaurusz fosszíliákból (Hypacrosaurus és Caudipteryx) kerül elő olyan korú DNS, ami elvben nem lehetséges.

Van gond a publikáció címével, hogy a “Megalodons” szót használja. Megalodon az egy kagyló genusz. Majd a fajnevet nagybetűvel írja. Szövegben viszont következetesen O. megalodon, kivéve mikor nem. Például mikor észlelésekről van szó. Ez már más terep, mivel a halász Megalodon-t látott. Akinek annyi esze sincs, hogy ne kagylónak nevezzen egy cápát. Kiemelnék egy mondatot: “In reality, O. megalodon is not ethnoknown and is thus not a cryptid, since there are no legitimate accounts that can be credibly tied to it.” Tehát az Otodus megalodon, vagy a igénytelenül “MEGALOOOOÓÓÓÓÓÓÓDÓÓÓÓÓN” még csak nem is kriptid, mivel nincsenek bizonyítékok. Fotó, videó, még csak hamis foggal sem igazán álltak elő. A holocéni o. megalodon fogak valójában nem elég diagnosztikusak e fajhoz rendelésükhöz. Rengeteg beszámoló tévesen azonosított más cápákat O. megalodon-nak. Sőt mint ahogy a fanyűvő esetén (mihez nekem, de legfőképpen jelenleg inaktív Orosz Istvánnak eléggé volt köze) itt is rengeteg a kamugép, akik szándékosan hazudnak.
Egy szó mint száz, a holocéni Otodus megalodon-ra annyi bizonyíték sincs, hogy kriptidnek lehessen nevezni.

Új adatok az utóhatásokról
Tanis révén új adatok és számítások alapján a meteor becsapódását követően 15 fokkal is csökkenhetett a globális átlaghőmérséklet. Légkéörbe került szilikátpor 15 év elteltével rakódhatott le. 2 évig olyan sűrű lehetett, hogy fotoszintetizálás szinte leállhatott.

Görcsösködnek a kis görcsök
Compsognathidae-k mibenléte régóta kérdéses. Felmerült, hogy fiatal állatokról van szó. Ausztrál kora krétai megaraptora leletek publikációjában viszont a Megaraptora-ba lettek elhelyezve. Megaraptora-k pedig Tyrannosauroidea-ba. Viszont a családfában egyértelmű hiba van, mivel a Maip nem közép maastrichti, hanem campania végi és maastrichti eleji. Engem mondjuk úgy, hogy sokkol, hogy a “compy” az Tyrannosauroidea. Bár ha fiatal példányokról van szó….
