Ismét megkésve, mármint a 52-es is már bőven készül, tehát e hír gyűjtés kitétele késett heteket. Sajnos meg van ennek az oka, egy cikk ami nem épp jó dologról szól.
Addig is egy új faj, a Jaculinykus yaruui, Seiji Yamamoto alkotása.
Mosasauria-k együttéléséről
Belgiumi utolsó két millió évben, egy területen élt öt faj fogait vizsgálták. Nem voltak kimondottan specializálódva bizonyos táplálék forrásokra, bár tény, hogy három kategóriába besorolhatóak, miket részesíthettek előnyben. Carinodens belgicus és Plioplatecarpus marshi mai hüllők tartományában voltak, halakat és kemény vázás állatokat fogyasztottak. Prognathodon saturator és Prognathodon sectorius átfedésben van ezzel, ám jóval nagyobb gerinctelenekkel is táplálkozott. A Mosasaurus hoffmanni pedig mindent is megevett.

Denevér észlelő
44 millió éves borostyán megőrződött fürgeszöcske példány képes volt hallani, ez a reprodukciót is megkönnyítette. A szárnyakkal 31,62 (± 2.27) kHz hangot tudtak gerjeszteni modellezés alapján. Ellenben a fülük akár 80 kHz-et is érzékelt. Ez túl magas, hogy csak a fajtárs kommunikációhoz legyen használva. Denevérek ultrahangját képesek voltak így érzékelni, így elkerülni a denevéreket.

Morrisoni dögevőségről
Sauropoda csontokat vizsgáltak, szemben a későbbi Tyrannosauridae-k álta hagyott nyomokkal a gyógyult nyomok száma a Morrison formációban csekély. Oka az, hogy a Theropoda-k fiatal Sauropoda-kra vadásztak, illetve tetemekkel táplálkoztak. 5-6 közepes/nagy állat különíthető el, Ceratosaurus nasicornis, Marshosaurus bicentesimus, Torvosaurus tanneri, Allosaurus fragilis, A. jimmadseni és Saurophaganax maximus. A probléma, hogy a fogaik így azok nyomai a csontokon nagyon hasonlóak, nehéz elkülöníteni őket. Olyan dolgok segíthetnek, amennyiben helyes a megállapítás, hogy az oldalsó fogak a Cerato- és Torvosaurus esetén kevésbé érintkeztek a csontokkal táplálkozás közben.

Most hideg vagy melegvérű?
Cistecephalus microrhinus CT vizsgálata, mely alapján az állat inkább hidegvérű volt. Ellentmond a korábbi csont metszetek elemzésének. Ez mit jelent a Dicynodontia-kra nézve? Szerzők szerint a hidegvérűséget, ám a csupaszturkáló alapján nem kell így elkapkodni, kisméretű üreglakó állat lehetett.

Dudorok
Több eocéni, európai lelőhelyről is előkerültek olyan madár nyakcsigolyák melyeket csont dudorok borítanak. Hasonló struktúrák találhatóak a sörényes patkány koponyáján is. Eocéni leletek szegényessége és a meglévőkben a röpképtelen madarak magas száma miatt valószínűleg röpképtelen madarakhoz tartoznak a csigolyák. Erre utalhat az alacsony pneumaticitás is. A csontkinövések feltehetően az emlős ragadozók elleni védelemként értelmezhetőek, mivel e ragadozó leginkább nyakra támadnak.

Szóval a szerző felveti, hogy az emlősök úgy alkalmazkodtak a dinoszauruszok melletti élthez, hogy gyors szaporodást és rövid élettartamot vettek fel. Ez pedig a hosszú időkeret miatt pedig a hosszú életért felelős gének elvesztését és/vagy deaktiválását eredményezte. A mai hosszú életű emlősök e hátrányokkal hosszú életűek. Szóval emlősök még tovább élhetnének, ha nem lett volna “dinó uralom”?

Új kutatás alapján 1300-1500 tehető az ember által kiirtott madárfajok száma. Ez így az eredeti diverzitásának 12%-a. A Csendes-óceán a legérintettebb. Most komolyan… ezzel a média nem foglalkozott, csak azzal, hogy “rohadt dinók miatt nem élünk több száz évet”.

Sajnos igen. Találkozni olyan okoskodásokkal, hogy nem az ember írtotta ki a jégkori megafaunákat, hisz afrikai és indiai orrszarvú ott van még. Újabb kutatás, újabb ugyan azon eredmény, hogy az ember a hibás. Hisz a megmaradt megafaunák is alapvetően folyamatos csökkenésben vannak.

Ma is érezhető hatások
Talán már írtam, hogy szakmai képzésem alatt azt tanították, hogy a talajpusztulás természetes és pont. Nos e publikáció azzal foglalkozik, hogy a megafaunák hiányában a tápanyag és megvak elosztása összeomlott, magszórási távolságok lerövidültek a nagy vándorló növényevők hiányában. Magyarán azért van “természetes” talajpusztulás, mert nem természetes, kiirtottuk a trágyázó állatokat. Tehát a jégkor végi kihalás valójában ugyanaz ami ma is zajlik és erősen kihat a mezőgazdaságra is.

Tucat gyártott virágok
Publikáció szerint a zárvatermő virágos növények virágai a kora krétában voltak a legváltozatosabbak. Tehát akkor amikor még csak el kezdtek terjedni, növényvilágból jóval kisebb részt vettek ki. Ez nem ellentmondás, mivel a természet sok variációt próbált ki és a legjobb konstrukciók maradtak meg.

Albertosaurus kannibalizmusáról
Danek csontágy már 2014 óta kutatva van, számos Albertosaurus-nak tulajdonítható fosszilis csont került elő innen. Ami fontos, hogy van olyan melyen más Tyrannosauridae fogainak nyomai találhatóak. Mivel más Tyrannosauridae nem került elő a Horseshoe Canyon formációból, így kannibalizmus bizonyítéka. Az, hogy megölte-e a fajtársát, vagy már holtan talált rá, nem tudni.

Pseudosuchia vol. 3-ban írottak így módosulnak valamelyest. Méretes publikáció szeriont e madagaszkári krokodil úgy 7500 évig együtt élt a nílusi krokodillal, kihalásának több forgatókönyve lehetséges.

Ízeltlábúak az elsők, de hogy?
Új eredmények alapján az ízeltlábúak előbb kitették lábaikat a szárazföldre, mint a növények, vagy hogy az ózonpajzs sugárzás védelmet adhatott volna. E problémára megoldás lehet, hogy a korai ízeltlábúak számára vízből nyíló barlangok lehettek az első lépcsőfok a szárazföld felé. Hisz itt védve voltak a sugárzástól.

Mégsem új jaguár
Észak-Amerikából kihaltak a jaguárok (de kezdenek már vissza települni), de nagyobb testméret miatt felmerült, hogy másik fajról (Panthera augusta) lehet szó. DNS vizsgálat alapján ugyanaz a faj, mint a ma élők, közös ősük 400 000 éve lehetett. Alfajként való megkülönböztetés, mint Panthera onca augusta helyes lehet.

Publikáció a publikáció kezelésről és elérésről. A lényeg, hogy az eredeti kutatások publikációjának jóval kisebb az elérése, mint az azokat felhasználó oldalaké. PBDB a példa, de ha azt vesszük ez a blog is ilyen. Publikáció nem e oldalak ellen beszél, de az információk eredeti forrásának a háttérbe szorulása nem jó. Erről én is beszéltem többször, mint pl. a Wikipedia sokszori ekézése, hogy a helyett az ember publikációkra keressen rá inkább. Csak halkan jegyzem meg, hogy témához korrektül hozzáállók munkájáról van szó, hogy nem jó, hogy ezek a dolgok több elérést kapnak. Ezeknél még többet kapnak a mindenféle blogos és videós, nevezhetem macskakaparásnak? Szóval a talán a Wikipediát megnézte, de forrásokat csak a hülye jelöl, magyar videós után szabadon kategória. Új alvó (hangyász) sárkány
Jaculinykus yaruui egy új Alvarezsauridae a Baruungoyot formációból. A példány csontváza majdnem teljes, illetve alvás közben halt meg. Alvási pozíció a Mei és Sinornithoides-ével megegyezik, tehát úgy aludt, mint egy madár. Ez szárnytollakat vélelmezhetne, melyek alá dughatta a fejét az állat. Viszont tollak nem őrződtek meg.

Bunkó fejűek elszaporodása
Sphaerotholus triregnum és S. lyonsi két új Pachycephalosauridae. Maga a genusz már ismert volt, a fajgazdagsága viszont figyelemre méltó. Noha óva intek, mivel csak koponya töredékek vannak. A S. lyonsi a Dinosaur Park formációból került elő, míg a S. triregnum a Hell Creekből. Ezzel a Hell Creeckben figyelemre méltóra duzzadt a család diverzitása. Ráadásul az S. triregnum-ot hordozó rétegnél fiatalabból és idősebből is került elő S. buchholtzae, magyarán nem egyik fajból lett a másik, hanem a genusz két faja egymás mellett élt.

Goblinkodás
Az hogy az internet hajnalán még nem, az előtt meg főleg sok publikáció nem került internetre egy dolog. De ez ma is dívik. “WINDOWS INTO SAUROPSID AND SYNAPSID EVOLUTION” erre példa. A Gremlin slobodorum ebben leírt új Leptoceratops az Oldman formációból. Gremlin most már valíd állat. Itt az ideje kriptid neveket adni őslényeknek és akkor nem kitalált lények.
Megjegyzés: Igen tudom, hogy a gremlin nem goblin. Goblinkodást szokták trollkodás szinonimájaként használni. Magyarításokban pedig gyakori, hogy a goblin gnómra kerül fordításra, míg máshol a gnóm manóra. Meg ott van még a kobold. Szóval csak a szokásos. Ezért goblinkodás a cím.
