Újabb publikáció, ahol a Pterosauria-k tollait tollnak hívják. Azért is fontos, mert még mindig sokan megkérdőjelezik azt hogy legitim álláspont a pycnofibres tollnak nevezése. Hát bocsi, de ez hivatalos, hogy a toll az toll.
Tapejaridae összetett toll vizsgálata alapján az biztos, hogy a tollak eredetileg hőszigetelésben játszottak fontos szerepet az Avemetatarsalia-knál és csak később (jelenlegi ismeretek alapján) Theropoda-knál váltak színes, nagyon összetett “dekorációs” elemmé. Eddig is ismert volt, hogy lehetséges genetikai információ átvitele vírusokkal fajok közt. Paraziták általi géntranszfer a kígyók és békák közt új ismeretek alapján 54-szer történhetett meg az elmúlt 85 millió év folyamán.
Kérdés, hogy ezek a gén részletek mennyire befolyásolnak, úgy általában bármit is. Az egyed viselkedését, kinézetét, evolúciót. 2015-ben a Bolyhoska 2 írásomban már volt szó ilyen eshetőségről.
Ceratopsia-k fogairól
Jurai ceratopsia fogak vizsgálata. Három kínai genusz volt vizsgálva Yinlong, Hualianceratops és Chaoyangsaurus. Tudjuk, hogy a fejlett formák igazi rágó gépek voltak, kemény növényi részeket is el tudtak majszolni. Ehhez viszont gyors fogpótlásra volt szükség. Nos ez az ami nem volt meg a korai fajoknál, így valószínáleg emésztés gyorsítása érdekében gasztrolitokkal élhettek.

Volt már régebben szó, hogy a 3D-s képalkotási mód jó módszer a leletek digitalizálására. Most viszont más szempont került terítékre. Mégpedig, hogy a látogatók is képesek erre a fotózási szabályok áthágása nélkül. Ellenben így lemásolják a leleteket és pénzt is kereshetnek a másolatokkal, holott az eredetieket tulajdonolja valaki (személy, vagy jogi személy), így jogilag is visszás, technikailag lopás az így keresett pénz. Ráadásul a folyamat alatt torzulhat az információ, így egy múzeumban kiállított csontváz módosításra került 3D nyomtatás előtt, de úgy kerül eladásra hogy az adott múzeumi példány kicsinyített mása, közben így már nem. Ráadásul a publikáció egyik szemléltető képén lévő T. rex-nek hiányzik a gastraliumja, tehát igen múzeumokban sem mindig jók a kiállított dolgok.

Plesiosauria-k úszásáról
Publikáció a hosszú nyakú Plesiosauria-k anatómiájának és úszási képességéről. A testfelépítésük nagyobb ellenállást váltott ki, viszont ezt a testtömeg képes volt kiegyenlíteni, hasonló szintbe hozni más tengeri Tetrapoda-khoz. A hosszú nyak megnehezítette az előre úszást, ám a nagy méretű torzó ezt ellensúlyozta, Elasmosauridae-k rokonságához képest is hosszú nyak a nagyobb test miatt vált lehetségessé.

Spinosaurus és Baryonyx vizi életmódjáról volt hír az előző összefoglalóban, míg készült jött is rá cáfoló publikáció. E cáfolóra jött reagáló publikáció, reagálnak az agályokra, nem változik a felállított kép.
Oké ezt elrontottam, szóval már készül 39-es, és sikerült ebbe bele írnom időrendileg oda valókat… remek. De ezt azért ide szántam eredetileg is, szóval van még egy cáfoló publikáció, csontvázat és lehetséges izmokat 3D-ben rekonstruálták, ez alapján két lábon volt képes járni, úszása pedig elég gyatra volt. Képes volt úszva közlekedni, de zsákmányt üldözni nem.

Rovarok és zárvatermők korai kapcsolatáról
Elsőnek egy publikáció, mely a virágos növények megjelenésének becsléséről szól. Másodjára egy olyan kutatás mely lényege, hogy eddigi elméletektől eltérően a zárvatermők és a beporzásért felelős rovarok kapcsolata nem volt olyan szoros a legelején, inkább később, a kréta végi kihalás után érte el azt a formát, mint amit ma ismerünk. Ez nem azt jelenti, hogy pl. a kréta végén ne lett volna sok beporzó rovar. Inkább azt, hogy a zárvatermők világhódításuk elején még nem támaszkodtak a rovarokra. Ez a kapcsolat apránként épült ki.

Az új faj 9-10 méteres lehetett és elég töredékes leletek alapján írták le. Patagóniában találták és egyike lehetett az “utolsó dinoszauruszoknak” a Maip macrothorax. Igen ez a klisé már unalmas, meg madarak. Megaraptora-k besorolása még mindig kérdéses. Lehet Coelurosauria-k, lehet a Tyrannosauroidea-k része, de a Carcharodontosauria tagság is lehetséges. Publikáció a fosszíliákon kívül más képekkel is bír, ezekből kettőt teszek ide.

Appalachiai óriás “Ornithomimosauria”
Észak-Amerika a kréta végére vált egységes kontinensé, ellenben a keleti kontinensről, Appalachiaról alig ismertek Dinoszauria-k. Egy régebbi cikkben erről volt is szó. Úgy szolván van fogalmunk mik élhettek ott több tíz milliós időkeretben. Santonia időszakbéli Eutaw formációból előkerült ornithomimosauria leletek alapján itt két különálló taxon élt. A nagyobbik taxon elérte, vagy túl is szárnyalhatta a Beishanlong és Gallimimus méretét. Combcsont vizsgálata alapján 11 évesen volt ekkora az állat. Nem lehet kizárni, hogy Deinocheirus-hoz hasonló állat volt.

Késő triászi svájci Alpokból nagy méretű Ichthyosauria-k “nyomai” kerültek elő. Töredékes leletek hiányos fog, csigolya, bordák és koponya utáni csont elemekből állnak. Eddig le nem írt új taxon akár 20 méteres is lehetett, ezzel első helyre is pályázhat, tény a Shastasaurus 21 méteresre van becsülve. Ám, néhány csont alapján nehéz megbecsülni.
